We often get asked the question about what to wear for an equine photoshoot. So, we thought we would give you a little guidance, a few tips and ideas on style to get the best experience. The shoot is about the relationship between you and your horse and this should be kept in mind. Preparation is key mixed with a little courage express the real you! Have a look at our Equine Photoshoot information page for more information on our equine shoots.
Variety is the Spice of Life
Variety is the spice of life and with this in mind I would look to aim for up to three outfits changes during your session. This will give you a chance to show the difference sides of your personality and give a great variety in the images. Please remember that the ideas in this article are merely suggestions. After all, the shoot is about you, not us and who doesn’t love a bit of dressing up! Why not check out Pinterest for some ideas. We like this ‘Photoshoot Style’ board.
Be creative as anything goes. Our 3 outfit suggestions in brief would be; Casual (jeans and shirt), Smart casual (perhaps jeans with a tops that’s a little more glam) and full on glam (perhaps a summer dress, ball gown or dressage outfit). Be brave and think outside the box. Your choice of outfit will add personality and life to the finished product. Your outfit choices will be on your wall, so choose something that you love and will feel proud to display.
Don’t Leave it to the Last Minute.
Make sure you that you don’t leave your outfit decisions to the last minute. Your favourite jeans might be too small or in the wash. The accessories you had planned might not match or your boots are dirty when you put them on for the shoot. Perhaps it’s time to treat yourself to something new? Our very own client, the lovely Becci, has her own Equestrian brand Super X Country if it’s time to update your riding wardrobe.
Perhaps it time for a new pair of riding boots? The Dublin Style boot is very popular with lots of our Equine customers and they are readily available online. Or why not visit local store Thomas Irving Equestrian Superstore in Chesterfield for a browse before your appointment.
Don’t forget to style your horse and make them look beautiful and at their best. We all know that if you wash your horse the night before they are likely to roll around in the stable, so make sure you leave time to give them a wash early morning.
