What is their style of Photography?

Every family photographer has their own style and this is of course subjective. After all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Before you book your photographer make sure to have a look at their website and check galleries on their social media pages. In addition, check out if they have a Pinterest page perhaps. Every genre of photography has its own unique style as will every photographer so, If you love their style of images then go for it!

Feel free to browse through our own gallery and see what think.

Where is your photographer located?

The photography studio you chose might have the best family photographer in the land, however, are they miles away? Will kids might get cranky, will you get lost, hit traffic or be late. Therefore, you might want to consider someone more local. Also consider in what type of location they are based too. For instance, they might be in a closed warehouse, shopping centre or industrial unit with no opportunities for outdoor images. If you want outdoor images then choose a studio like us. As we are based at Renishaw Hall, in the grounds of a beautiful stately home with green and outdoor space.

Is communication from the studio up to scratch?

Communication and customer service is key to a great photography experience. So a good place to start is by looking at their social media pages – ie Facebook. Also, check the response time and how the photographer or team responses to any interactions with their followers. After that you will be able to establish if you like their personality by reading those responses. In addition, If you have sent them an email and they take more that 24 hours to respond, keep looking! Why not just give them a call and check out how they respond over the phone.

Has the photographer won any awards?

Winning awards is not essential for a good photographer, however, it can be a good indicator. Do they take pride in their images style and quality? Whether local, national or international , if they have been recognised for their work, then they are worth considering. Check out in what categories the awards have been won for instance, and if you can see what invited reward. If you decide to visit the studio, check out if the awards are proudly displayed for customers to see.
