Pregnancy Photoshoot Information

The joys of those first few days, marvelling at sleepy poses, button noses and cute fingers and toes, are moments you want to remember forever.

CAPTURE YOUR BUMP

FOREVER

YOUR PREGNANCY EXPERIENCE INCLUDES

  • Pre-shoot advice on clothing

  • Up to 90-minute photo shoot at Renishaw Hall

  • Tea and coffee provided (and herbal teas for those avoiding caffeine, of course)

  • One hour viewing session (around two weeks later) to choose your images

WHAT HAPPENS DURING MY PREGNANCY PHOTOSHOOT

Your pregnancy session lasts up to 90 minutes. We aim to capture a range of different images using different backgrounds, clothing, posing and lighting techniques. During the session, we may require you to be standing for a while, but don’t worry, there will also be plenty of time for you to take the weight off your feet or change outfits if you wish. We will provide you with light refreshments, although we do recommend that you bring food and drink just in case you need an energy boost.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME FOR A PREGNANCY PHOTOSHOOT?

We recommend booking a session between 32 and 35 weeks. This is enough to have a lovely bump to capture, but not too close that you feel uncomfortable (or for us to need hot towels!). We suggest that you call us around four weeks earlier (between 28 and 31 weeks pregnant) than this to have the best chance of finding a suitable session time.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE SESSION?

You will be invited back for an hour’s viewing session one to two weeks after your photo shoot. This will give us time to choose the best images from your shoot and digitally enhance them. You will first be presented with a beautiful slideshow of your images on a large projector. The rest of the time will be spent choosing your favourite images and discussing sizes and finishes for your wall art or other products.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

This is ultimately up to you but we have  some suggestions. We generally recommend a white top. Denim maternity jeans can look great, as can long, flowing maternity dresses. Bandeaus, boob tubes or pretty bra tops can allow us to show off your bare bump without you being completely uncovered.. If you wish to go a bit more daring, we can shoot you fully nude which, with clever lighting and limb placement, can look stunning and yet still preserve your dignity.  We would encourage your husband/partner to be involved in the shoot and for them to wear simple clothing and complementary colours.

CAN I BRING MY OTHER CHILDREN / DOG?

Of course, and we fully encourage this. It’s lovely to involve other members of the family in the shoot – Grandma, siblings or indeed the family pet. Please do think about the clothing they are wearing as well (see above). As younger children can get bored easily, it’s worth bringing some snacks and a drink for them, as well as something to do.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I BRING?

It can be nice to include a couple of props in the shoot, such as your favourite baby booties or clothing, a cute teddy or even your scan picture.  How about a blackboard or calendar with the due date?
