Kids Photography Information
We’re very proud to have won an ‘Under 5’s’ category in a National Photography award two years running. We have specialised in kids photography for 12 years. Chris is great at engaging with children in front of the camera and getting the best out of each and every session. We all know they grow up too fast and we think that images of your children should be visible for all to see, reminding you every day of those cute early years and putting a smile on your face.
YOUR KIDS EXPERIENCE INCLUDES
Pre-shoot advice on clothing
Up to one hour photo shoot at Renishaw Hall
Studio and location photography in one session (subject to weather)
One hour viewing session (around two weeks later) to choose your images
full retouching of your purchased images
Feel free to view our gallery to see more of our kids photography. All the images of children shown on this site is carried out at our Sheffield photography studio. We are based in the grounds of Renishaw Hall, Derbyshire. If you have any questions about our kids photography services please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’ll look forward to chatting with you.
DO OUR CHILDREN NEED TO BE PERFECTLY BEHAVED?
We have enjoyed working with children for over 12 years and see it as a priority for the photo sessions to be fun. Getting children to be co-operative isn’t usually a problem if they’re having a good time!
WHAT CLOTHES SHOULD I BRING?
Please bring a variety of outfits. How do you like to see them dressed at this age? What is your favourite item of clothing that will make it into the treasure box rather than the charity shop? What do they play in and how do they look when they go to lunch with Grandma? Bring as much as you can and we will advise on the best outfits for the shot. If they go to ballet classes, please bring their tutu and ballet slippers. If they go to football training, then feel free to bring their kit and a ball…you get the idea?
WHAT ELSE SHOULD WE BRING?
It’s great if you can bring along some of your child’s favourite toys, games, balls, kites, bubbles – anything that you enjoy doing together as a family. Snacks are also a good idea to boost your child’s energy levels. We often find that kids lose focus quickly and a drink and a snack can often bring them back around.
WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO DURING THE PHOTOSHOOT?
On your arrival at the studio, we have a chat with the parents to explain what is going to happen and this also gives the children a chance to get used to us being there. Chris will get to know the kids before he pops a camera in their faces. Depending on the age of the children, it is good if the parents are close by to make them feel safe and sometimes we will ask mum or dad to be on ‘tissue duty’ for the younger ones. Usually the less the adults have to do, the better. Quite often after a shoot, we get asked by the parents if we can keep them for a while!!
