Dog Photoshoot Information
As dog owners ourselves, we know that the relationship between man and dog is very precious. As man’s best friend, having a shoot with your canine pal is a perfect way to capture both the cuteness of your dog and the special bond between the two of you.
YOUR DOG PHOTOSHOOT EXPERIENCE INCLUDES
-
Pre-shoot advice on clothing
-
Up to 90-minute photo shoot at Renishaw Hall
-
Studio and location photography in one session (subject to weather)
-
One hour viewing session (around two weeks later) to choose your images

Feel free to view our gallery to see more dog images. All the dog photography shown on this site is carried out at our Sheffield photography studio. We are based in the grounds of Renishaw Hall, Derbyshire. If you have any questions about our dog photography services please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’ll look forward to chatting with you.

CAN MY FAMILY AND I ALSO BE IN THE IMAGES?
Absolutely – we wholly encourage all the family to come along and be involved in the shoot, featuring in some of the images taken. After all, your dog is an extension of your family!
HOW MANY PETS CAN BE INCLUDED IN A SESSION?
There is really no limit to the number of dogs or pets that can be included in a photo session. If they all live in your home, then they are all part of your family. If however, the animals are large, then we might suggest an outdoor shoot for the main part of the session and invite each dog separately for individual shots in the studio. Please bear in mind that the more animals featured in a session, the less time each one gets to model individually in front of the lens.
DO YOU ONLY PHOTOGRAPH DOGS?
Whilst most of our animal customers are dogs, we have taken photos of cats, horses, guinea pigs, rabbits and even tortoises, and would be happy to discuss any requirements you may have. Please note that any shots which also include children will not be used for any purpose (other than in your private online gallery) without the parent or guardian’s written authority.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?
Most of the time, rain or bad light do not help the process of creating those all-important images where we have planned an outdoor shoot. However, we have our studio as well, so unless it is just an outdoor shoot that you are after, rain will not mean that the shoot will be cancelled. If you are wanting images in the grounds, please check the weather forecast on the day of the shoot; if it looks like rain or a potential issue with poor light, we will attempt to postpone the session for another (hopefully better) day – all at no additional cost.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING ALONG TO THE SHOOT?
We usually ask people to bring along their dog(s) (obviously!), leads, harnesses and the dog’s favourite toy(s). Please also bring along their favourite treats. We do have some, however we also know that dogs have their favourites and that some high value treats can achieve better results for some tasks. As for the owners, the most important thing is to have comfortable clothing and “sensible” footwear!
I CAN'T LET MY DOG OFF THE LEAD - WILL THAT BE A PROBLEM?
No problem. If we are in the studio, we’re happy for you to let your dog off the lead as we have the safety of two outer doors. We do have a lead available that can easily be removed from the image or will disappear at the right camera angle. During the shoot, we can try a number of different shots that make a lead fade into the background. If your dog wears a harness, please make sure that you also bring along a collar, in case it’s necessary to use our lead.
SHOULD MY DOG BE GROOMED?
We would suggest that if you intend to have your dog groomed, that you book an appointment at least a couple of weeks before the shoot. It can sometimes be quite a shock when our canine friends emerge from the groomers, having been scalped rather than trimmed! So, unless you know 100% that the grooming will show your dog off to his/her best, then please book it a little in advance of coming to visit us.
