The wedding of Pete and Sophie – Bedfordshire

It’s particularly lovely for me to capture the wedding day of a couple that I have already had chance to get to know. The recent wedding of Pete and Sophie was a perfect example of this. They were first introduce to me through their close friends, Neil and Jess, after they had been to us a number of for family portraits with their little boy. This was back in the day when we had a strong studio presence in Peterborough, so a short trip from Bedfordshire was easy. However, when Pete and Soph announced their engagement it was not long before they dragged them two hours up to our Chesterfield studio, where they combined an up-to-date family shoot, a wedding consultation and a weekend away. Pete and Sophie are a wonderful couple and so I was thrilled when they chose me as their wedding photographer. They even came up a second time, with Neil and Jess, and we spent a lovely couple of hours at Padley Gorge, for an engagement shoot. So once you’ve spent that much time together they stop being clients and feel much more like friends, making their wedding day even more special for me. They’re on […]

The wedding of Mr and Mrs Clark

Well our wedding season is all but over, with just a couple more albums to create once the couples have chosen their favourites. Time for us to get posting blogs again. We’ll start with Ryan and Natalie’s wedding in Prestbury. The village is absolutely beautiful, and the perfect setting for a wedding.   I’ve been blessed with the most wonderful wedding couples over the years, and Ryan and Natalie were no exception. Ryan recently took the brave move to end his career as a city banker, and carried out self-funded training program to become a qualified airline pilot. A fantastic achievement and a testament to the strength of their relationship that Ryan could take such a dramatic change of career, knowing that Natalie would support him 100%. We were in a similar situation 6 years ago when I gave up my career in the chemical industry to pursue this dream. I must give credit to my wife, Allie, at this point, and say there’s no way I could’ve done it without her. So I’ve no doubt that this early demonstration of Ryan and Natalie’s strength and support for each other will mean they will have a very long and amazing […]

Back to Black (& White)

This is the recent wedding of Kate and Andrew. They had their wedding at Beighton Church, followed by reception at Van Dyk Hotel. They both had an incredible day and, despite the rain, we still managed to get a lovely set of images. As always, while I was picking a few of my favourite images for their highlights slideshow, I found I had picked mostly black and white images. So, rather than try and balance it out, I thought ‘what the hell’ and went for them all in B&W. I love them like this, and still hoping one day for a brave couple who want their entire album like that. Huge congratulations to Kate and Andrew and we wish you all the best for the future!   [nggallery id=33]

Wedding Photography – Rachael & Andrew

Rachael and Andrew had a couple of bits of bad luck leading up to their wedding day. Their original photographer had failed to send them any contract, and never answered any of their phone calls, raising concerns that he would even show up on the day. I’m pleased to say that their first meeting with us gave them all the reassurance they needed to go ahead and book us instead. We also gave them a complimentary studio session with us, which was a great chance for their two young boys to get to know me ahead of the wedding. I found out about their other bad luck just a few days before the wedding, when I phoned to find Rachael in tears. This time their chosen wedding car company refused to acknowledge their booking and simply told them they would not be there on the day. Thankfully they found a replacement wedding car supplier just in time, and the rest of the wedidng went ahead without any more problems. They had perfect weather for their wedding day as well. Their traditonal church wedding was followed by reception at Van Dyk Hotel. The speeches were really from the heart, and a […]

Hodsock Priory Bridal Open Day

Most people will have spent the Sunday just gone Christmas shopping or sorting out their Christmas decorations….but not us! We were chosen to go and work with Hodsock Priory at their Bridal Open Day. Our director, Chris Langham was on hand to take couples on a tour of the magnificent gardens and fabulous rooms with their wedding photography in mind. Chris gave advice on how to choose the right wedding photographer and showed couples the best places to capture some stunning imagery. South Yorkshire based Hodsock Priory is such a beautiful wedding venue and Chris was well placed to give advice having been the wedding photographer there on numerous occasions. It was lovely to meet all the fantastic couples at the open day and we hope to work with some of them in the near future.
