Chris and Rebecca – Thorpe Salvin, near Sheffield

What a fabulous couple of weeks of weather we’ve been having, which makes our wedding days even more wonderful to be a part of. This time we were very close to my Sheffield home, in a gorgeous little village called Thorpe Salvin. Chris and Rebecca were a wonderful couple, and I particularly loved Rebecca’s choice of Dress and flowers, both of which were simple, but amazingly effective.   The wedding was held in Thorpe Salvin Church, followed by a marquee reception in one of their kind neighbours fields. The close proximity of the ceremony and reception meant that we could also pop over to the ruins of Thorpe Salvin Old Hall, which proved to be a gorgeous backdrop for a few of the images.     It threatened to rain a few times, but held off all day, and the marquee was perfect for the wedding breakfast and evening entertainment, which included a Ceilidh and singing performances from friends and relatives. Rebecca’s brother in-particular gave a fine performance on his ukulele. Here’s a short highlights slideshow from their wedding. We wish Rebecca and Chris a wonderful married life together and also best of luck with the start of their new […]

A scorching hot day in Cambridge

So off we went to Cambridge yesterday for a wedding of our friends, Lizzie and Michael. Allie has known Lizzie for many years now, and we were honoured to be asked to photograph their wedding for them. We had the pleasure of also being guests at the wedding, which was just lovely. The wedding venue was in the stunning grounds of Michael’s old college in the centre of Cambridge. It was the hottest day of the year, and the bride looked incredible – all the right ingredients for a great day of photography. Wishing them both a fabulous honeymoon and we’ll look forward to showing you all the images when you get back.

Trash the Dress

You buy that dress that you’ve dreamt of all your life, you wear it for one day and then you have it cleaned before putting in the attic, in a box, never to be seen again. Brides can now ‘Trash’ the dress, Rock the Frock or Cherish the Dress – a new style of photo shoot that is a great excuse to wear that beautiful dress one more time.  Whether it be a few weeks or months after the wedding – or a few years down the line, how lovely to feel like a bride again.   Unlike the original Trash the Dress idea, where the bride has been known to set fire to the dress, rip it or something equally dramatic, our version is a little more tame. However – we’re always open to suggestions and up for a challenge!     Natalie didn’t trash her dress exactly… it just got a bit wet!!  Her wedding took place last October of last year and unfortunately we were unable to attend the actual wedding date. However she contacted us a few months later with the idea that she would like some images taken at Padley Gorge – a place very special to […]
