The search is on for grandparents and their grandchildren to feature in a forthcoming book of classic black and white photographs.
Prompted by the questions of Chris’ own children Max & Ruby whilst looking back at old family photographs, Sheffield based Chrysalis Photography are urgently looking for fabulous grandparents to photograph with their grandchildren.
While looking through old photograph albums one Sunday afternoon with the family, Max, aged 7, asked why there were no photos of Chris with his Grandad . Even though Chris had often spoken fondly about times spent with him, it had never occurred to the family to have proper photographs taken to look back on in later years. The children then went on a hunt for photographs of both mummy & daddy with their grandparents, but images were few and far between. In fact just one of Chris with his paternal grandfather and none of Allie with any of her grandparents.
Chris has now made it his mission to create a book of black and white photographs of children with their grandparents, to include images of his own children, so that for some families (including his own) their will always be beautiful photography of grandparents with their grandchildren in print, for them to treasure for years to come. Once published, the book of My Fabulous Grandparents will be donated to Sheffield Libraries.
The format of the book will be made up of classical black and white photographs, each accompanied by a short sentence or verse written by the grandchildren to explain why they love their fabulous grandparents.
As a thank you gesture for helping with this project, Chris will give each group that is photographed a free 7”x5” framed desktop photograph to keep. Copies of the book and further framed images will also be available to order from Chrysalis Photography.
Grandparents who wish to be featured in the book with their grandchildren should contact Chrysalis Photography on 01909 774963 as soon as possible.
