What is Boudoir Photography?
A boudoir is a lady’s private bedroom, sitting room or dressing room and the term derives from the french verb bouder, meaning “to pout”. Boudoir Photography therefore aims to capture women in a sensual way and show them looking beautiful in their own skin. Where does the photo shoot take place?
Our new studio is situated in Chesterfield, on the edge of the Derbyshire countryside, and includes a private dressing room area for you to use. We are also flexible on location and can arrange to shoot in your home or another venue if you have something specific in mind.

Is boudoir photography suitable for everyone?
Yes, our only requirement is that you are over 18. Our job is to bring out the best in our subjects. From size 8 to 18, we understand which poses will flatter your natural shape and minimise the bits that you tell us you don’t like so much. Whether your style is sexy siren or girl nextdoor, our photographer will create beautiful images you’ll treasure forever.

You only reveal as much or as little as you are comfortable with. We want you to be relaxed and at ease during the shoot, and absolutely delighted with the results, so let us know what you prefer. If you are not sure, have a look through our gallery and decide what sort of poses appeal to you, and we can discuss in more detail before you book. Our photographer will expertly guide you through the session so you can relax and enjoy the experience.

What should I wear on the day?
We always recommend you arrive wearing loose-fitting clothing on the day of the shoot. That way there won’t be any marks from underwear, trousers etc. Bring your favourite lingerie, stockings, jewellery, high heels, dresses, accessories or anything else that makes you feel feminine and fabulous when you put it on. It could be your partner’s white shirt! Our photographer will advise you on what suits you and the most appropriate poses to give the best results. We also have a gorgeous range of silky fabrics, chiffon, taffeta and lace to drape over any areas that you prefer to remain covered. Less can definitely be more in this style of photography. Also bring a dressing gown or bath robe for inbetween shots.

Can I bring a partner or friend?
Yes, this should be an enjoyable and exciting experience for you so bring along a friend or your partner who can help you relax and be yourself. We also recommend you to have a chaperone anyway – this not only protects you, but also the photographer.

Can you do my make-up / hair professionally too?
Yes, we can arrange a professional makeup artist and hair stylist who we regularly work with. Let us know at the time of booking what you need, and we can arrange it all for you.

The images we take will remain confidential and only you and the photographer will see them. We do not use client photos on our website without prior consent. As members of the MPA (Master Photographers Association) we can assure all clients of the highest level of service and professionalism.

Do you do image retouching?
We are very experienced in all photo editing and image enhancement techniques and can airbrush any blemishes to leave a flawless finish whilst still being true to the real you. We offer a range of photo effects and edits as standard, including black and white, and isolated colour effects.

How do I get to keep my chosen images?
We offer a wide range of printed products and frames to suit all tastes and budgets. Popular choices are canvas prints, montages and floating frames, as well as free-standing digital frames and acrylic desk blocks for a very contemporary look.
