Engagement and Couples Photography
Engagement photography is a low-pressure chance for a wedding photographer and newly engaged couples to have fun and experiment!
This, of course, should be done in a way to show the couples personality through the photos. We try to find the intimate side of the couple, making the pictures unique to them. A professional engagement photography session also permits the photographer and couple to establish a relationship and this leads to better wedding photography during the actual wedding day.
Some people REALLY hate having their photograph taken but we believe with the right attitude and approach even “photographically difficult” couples that hate cameras can still result in stunning images.
Visit our couples photography gallery to get a feel for our engagement photography and if you need any more information or would just like to have a chat about this service give us a call at the studio on 01246 451555. Alternatively you can contact us by clicking here and using the contact form
Your Questions Answered
Where does the photo shoot take place, and how long does it take?
Our new studio is situated in Chesterfield, on the edge of the beautiful Derbyshire countryside meaning your engagement shoot can include both studio and out door photography (dependent of course on the weather). We always block out a full two hours to ensure you are not waiting around or late finishing but we find we often get a set of fabulous images in less than the full hour. If you would like your shoot to be taken in a specific place (maybe you have somewhere that is special to you) that’s no problem. Just let us know when you contact us and we’ll get it organised!
What should we wear on the day?
We recommend you wear the kind of clothes you might wear to lunch at a smart hotel. It may be defined as smart casual although the most important thing is that you are comfortable in what you are wearing. Please try to avoid clashing colours and large logos.
I’m meeting my partner at the studio after work – Can I have my make-up / hair done professionally?
Yes, we can arrange a professional makeup artist and hair stylist who we regularly work with. Choosing this as an extra helps makes it a special occasion and can make you feel more confident about posing. Let us know at the time of booking what you would like, and we can arrange it all for you.
Do you do image re-touching?
We are very experienced in all photo editing and image enhancement techniques and can airbrush any blemishes to leave a flawless finish whilst still being true to the real you. We offer a range of photo effects and edits as standard, including black and white, and spot colour effects.
How do we choose images?
Once your shoot is complete we invite you back 7-10 days later for a personal slideshow experience in our projection room, where we can help you select the best images. We also have samples of the many print and frame styles you can choose from and we can also discuss how you may like to incorporate these photographs in your wedding. You may for example like to use them on your invitations.
How can we get prints of our chosen images?
We offer a wide range of printed products and frames to suit all styles and budgets. Popular choices are canvas prints, montages and floating frames, as well as free-standing frames and acrylic desk blocks for a very contemporary look. You can also choose to receive your high resolution images on DVD.
Are we under any obligation to buy?
No, we hope you love your images and would like to order prints, but you are under no obligation to do so. Hopefully we will have started to build a great working relationship that will continue through to your wedding and beyond.
